The team’s ultimate goal was to design a cereal box with a resealable closure. We developed a zipper closure that is attached to the plastic bag inside. This zipper is located on the top corner of the cereal box. To access the zipper, the consumer pulls open the paperboard spout, designed for controlled pouring. The team re-designed the cereal box to avoid conforming with the typical rectangular shape. This sleek design has a hexagonal, arrow shape accustomed with a window to allow visibility inside the box. The box is composed of paperboard, making it easily recyclable.
Fuel Up Cereal graphics capture the consumer’s attention with its contrasting colors and a seemingly textured background. This design portrays an energizing feeling for the consumer, supporting the idea of “fueling up” for the day each morning. Through these improvements, we are confident in that consumers can enjoy a better breakfast experience.
